Formed in 1928 to minister to students and the wider Louisiana State University community, St. Albanâ€™s was the first Episcopal Chapel in the United States to be built on the campus of a state university. Through vision and extraordinary generosity, our first donors set us on a path that continues to bless our community. We are the inheritors of a sanctuary designed with incredible acoustics, an organ that wonderfully suits the space, and strategic placement just down the street from a nationally recognized School of Music on the campus of a major state university.
There are few churches in the country that can boast of such a combination. Our sanctuary, organ, and student center have always shaped this ministry. Our chapel provides not only a place for Sunday worship but also a welcoming retreat in the middle of a hectic campus.

The Legacy campaign will enable us to be good stewards of this special place, so that St. Albanâ€™s may continue to be a place of spiritual strength for future generations of Christians here in Baton Rouge.
