The Need

Through the Forward in Faith capital campaign, we will be good stewards of our building and invest in faith formation for all ages here at St. Lawrence.

FULL ROOF REPLACEMENT ($300,000)

The recent discovery of mold issues throughout our building demonstrated that our leaky roof has gone from being a nuisance to a health hazard. St. Lawrence is in need of a new roof to prevent any similar problems in the future. Note that this number is far less than the true cost, thanks to the generosity of a parishioner who is a commercial roofer.

HVAC SYSTEM UPGRADE ($180,000)

Our 20-year-old HVAC system has needed increasingly frequent repairs over the last several years, with a noticeable impact during worship services when the temperature is not ideal. A comfortable environment is important and necessary to support all the activities that take place in our building year-round.

ONE HALF-TIME STAFF POSITION OVER 3 YEARS ($85,000)

St. Lawrence highly values formation for all ages, and we would like to hire a part-time staff member to direct these efforts. With this position, we hope to create additional Sunday School programs, teen programs, and service opportunities. After three years, the intent is for the position to become self-sustaining, funded from the church’s annual operating budget.

CHALLENGE GOAL: $650,000

By raising an additional $85,000, we would be able to fund a second part-time position focused on building management. This individual would work to increase use of the building by outside users, providing additional revenue to the church and increasing awareness in our community. After three years, the intent is for the position to become self-sustaining, funded from the church’s annual operating budget.
